Meet Our Team

Gavin is GA Europe’s Managing Director. He has 25 years' retail sector experience as an operator, consultant and restructuring professional. Gavin began his career as a qualified Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, before leaving to join UK retailer Dixons where he became a Regional Director responsible for 44 stores in the South East. As a consultant, Gavin is an ex-partner at professional services firm Ernst & Young, where he was Head of Retail. Before joining GA Europe, Gavin undertook several high profile, interim retail restructuring roles with UK and German retailers, on behalf of corporate lenders.

Milton is our European Operations Director and oversees all GA Europe’s retail operations. He brings in-depth sector experience as well as extensive product and category knowledge to the GA Europe team.  In a career spanning over 30 years, Milton has worked as a retail operator, turnaround professional, corporate finance advisor and consultant. He is ex-CEO of Celebrations Group and has held senior operational roles at a host of other UK retail companies such as K Shoes, Burton Group, Woolworths, Courts, Bewise Group and SB Capital. Milton has also been a non-executive director for Eurodis and Trewgates.

As our European Business Development Director, Martin is responsible for deal origination and completion in mainland Europe. He has 30 years retail sector experience in Germany and Eastern Europe, in which time he has held a raft of board level roles including Director of Sales and Marketing at Promarkt and Managing Director for IKEA Germany. Before joining GA Europe, Martin worked in various interim, restructuring roles.

Siegfried is GA Europe’s Head of Operations in Germany, and works alongside Milton Guffogg to manage retail operations in Europe. His 15 years of retail operational experience have included some senior operational positions for leading German companies such as Stacklies Enterprise Group, ProMarkt and Metro Group. He has also held an advisory role with Hornbach DIY.

Jonathan is our European Market Analyst, and plays a major role in identifying deal opportunities across Europe.  He has over 13 years experience of covering the retail and consumer products sectors.  Previously, Jonathan was part of the retail advisory team at Ernst & Young, with a specific focus on assisting retailers to develop their international businesses.  Jonathan is also a regular author of articles, surveys and points-of-view on issues impacting the retail sector.

Henry Wrigley is our Investment Controller. He is responsible for financial analysis, investment appraisal and managing deal performance. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he previously worked for Deloitte and more recently BDO. In the last 10 years, Henry has worked on a large number of mainstream corporate finance M&A transactions and accelerated M&A deals, with a particular focus on the retail sector. Notable deals include Dawnay Day, Musto and JJB Sports. Henry is also an alumnus of Insead, and has spent time working and living in India and China.
